Now those guys got some iron asses.

Gravdigr 09-19-2018 04:13 AM

I saw Bowling Green, and thought 'Oh, shit, I might try to catch those guys in Bowling Green (thinking KY).

Then I saw OH (meaning Ohio), and thought, 'Oh.'

They're riding by dental floss ranches today.

On iron that old, I hope their skies are blue.

In the list of cool things this ranks quite high.

They have loosened the rules this year to include those cushy modern bikes built from 1917 way up to 1929. But they did limit the field to 123 riders/bikes unleashed on American roads. :haha:

glatt 09-19-2018 11:33 AM

I see they are going from Billings MT to Great Falls MT tomorrow. Those are some unfriendly roads to be on with a slow bike.

The speed limit would be 80, and the trailer would be going 75, and when I would try to do the same maneuver, my van just didn't have any oompf. I had a few white knuckle passing incidents where I was going 90 and the car coming the other direction was going 85 or so, and that half mile of open road between us was shrinking very fast as I tried to get past the trailer. It was all the EcoBoost button. I was amazed at how much gas it saved me, but those passing maneuvers were not fun.

Wish I had noticed that button sooner. What was it doing under the radio way out of the way?

Keeping tabs on the Cannonball run is like watching a professional sports team. A bunch of millionaires with some free time.

On a side note I always wanted a Harley until I got one. I have spent more money on this bike than all the metrics I've ever had. That said as soon as the flood waters recede I will pick up a 99 Kawasaki Nomad with 14k miles for 2k. Pictures will be posted when I get it. Don't tell Jim.

Leather swingarm bags...

fargon 09-23-2018 07:33 AM

Wouldn't that add to the un sprung weight?

xoxoxoBruce 09-23-2018 11:01 AM

Yup, and shake the hell out of anything in the bag. That's the price of cool.

captainhook455 09-23-2018 08:48 PM

I have one made by ' American Rider ' out of vinyl. Nothing rolls around inside as it is so small I have to cram stuff in.,

Gravdigr 09-26-2018 04:38 AM

I wouldn't have thought that would be a great idea.

Ain't there a lot of 'movement' around them there parts?:eyebrow:

Damn cool flap, though!
