Engrish Instructions

1 Attachment(s)
I've just opened a new desk clock, which I'm delighted with because it has a thermometer (so I can tell people it's not cold and then show them evidence!)

Anyway, the instructions have obviously been translated. Well and well, that's not so unusual. But some of them are just so cute.

My especial favourites - "the time is 12 at clock wee hours" for 12 midnight
And the use of the word glitter instead of flash.

"Under snooze state, if press S key then cancel snooze."

smirk - Don't EVER cancel snooze

There was a high-end calculator about ten years ago, that if you divided by zero, would display the following message:

IRREGO

On the other hand, their English is better than my Japanese.

Buncha years ago, I had one of those toys, the little tiny rubbery things that you through into a glass of water and magically grow into a great big rubbery thing? This was probably the mid-80s or so, and they were new.

The instructions were all in terribly botched Engrish, but the one line that I remember (because I and my friends repeated it in unison for days) was "It is for the observation and amusement of the swelling."

Lol..."the alarm sound keeps for 1 minute."

:D

Ok, get your screw driver ready and "Open the clock ..."

"Date: can be changed from 1st, January, 2000 to 31, Dec, 2099." ... and hopefully any date in-between.

"The alarm sound is 'beep'" O RLY
