oh ick

daughter has first BF, they had their first "alone "date"" -a walk in the neighborhood" and now he's posting barfacious lovey-dovey things on facebook. I insist on being "friends" with her and all "significant" friends -it's part of the deal (I also have her password and free range to read, but I don't), but some things are better left unread. Thank goodness FB doesn't have barfy smilies -the temptation might just be too much for me......

haha...I have been through this with Aden and his g/f. Thankfully they're over all that stuff now, but I can tell you he copped a lot of shit from us and other members of the family at large over it. lol

wolf 04-04-2012 03:03 PM

He's expected to do that, and might endanger the relationship if he doesn't.

It supplements, but does not replace, the requirement that he pass cutesy little notes in school.

monster 04-04-2012 05:26 PM

Yeah, they're in different schools. texting is the thing

ZenGum 04-04-2012 07:33 PM

I'm tempted to ask for edited highlights, but you really shouldn't.

On the other hand, it is time for Beest to start posting links to knife-hunting and castration events on her wall. Nothing specific, just setting the tone. :D

monster 04-04-2012 07:52 PM

Beest no facebookie. It's quite sweet, but I don't do sweet.....

It's school break. he wrote:

Aw...young wove.

My son has a crush right now...is 4th grade too young? What do I do?!

jimhelm 04-05-2012 11:46 AM

omg. can you imagine. you meet this cute chick.... she's a swimmer... has a great smile... she's smart....so, you're smitten..... and, caught up in the heady springtime new love thrill of it all.... you post something romantic and touching... because the hell with what your dumb ass friends will say.. they don't have a girlfriend... so you can always shut them up by calling them virgins......

and then one day you check the girls wall and find that her mother is mocking the balls right off of you. sarcastically castrating you right in front of her!

if he lasts through it, you'll know he's serious about the girl at least. I say go ahead and mock. mock him right up.

monster 04-05-2012 05:14 PM

poor lamb, I'mm'a leave him well alone. Some of the lads I'd tease, but this one I don't know well enough. Plus she came up front and told me what was going on, like I asked her to, so I'm not going to mess with that. 'Cept here ;)

Aliantha 04-05-2012 05:30 PM

I think I probably have more teenage friends on fb than any other age group. It's amazing what you find out when there's enough of them on there.

monster 04-07-2012 05:06 PM

.....and the text bill is sky high -all to one number.... time for a new plan...... and a little chat....

Clodfobble 04-07-2012 06:06 PM

Heh... when my brother was about 10 or so, we went skiing in Colorado. A month later, my parents got an $800+ phone bill because he had apparently met some random girl on the slopes, and had been calling her long-distance ever since we got back.

ZenGum 04-10-2012 11:39 PM

Monster, have you warned her about the dangers of textual intercourse?

monster 04-11-2012 07:20 AM

Oh yes. :crone:

I learned via the grapevine that he didn't ask her out by text/IM as I had assumed, but waited for her at school on one of the days she doesn't have early practice -she changes bus at his school and has a 10 minute wait.

I confirmed by usual sly mom method that they meet this way regularly.

This is a whole new world of parenting

Griff 04-11-2012 04:10 PM

I feel your pain. Unwanted (thankfully) young males have been fawning over the Griff girls a lot lately. This confirms that I should post more on the Cool Weapons thread.
