MarbleLympics
This morning my friend NAG posted the MarbleLympics.
Starting with a simple premise of marbles competing in their own games. Some genius built a beautiful venue and staged the competition. Please do embiggen. |
This is the first of eight videos on a cross-country marble event.
I picked my favorite at the beginning of race 1. It was the eventual overall victor. |
I think the fix was in, I'll bet that white one had advanced knowledge of the race course. :yes nod:
|
I mean, the one I picked in race one was the cumulative champion after race eight. It didn't do great in race one.
|
Yeah but we don't see all the intrigue, cheating, and doping, going on behind the scenes. It's crooked as hell I tells ya... in other words, I lost. :haha:
|
Something new under the sun!
The work on the concept and physical layout are impressive, Interesting that it takes several steps to get the vid to open on this site, but it starts right up on the link. |
Jim, the videos HM and myself posted don't start by just clicking on the arrow in the middle of the picture??
What steps do you have to do to play it? |
This should be good. He was having trouble with Vimeo, too.
I think that was D-Jim... |
Well, you know if I got that there arrow, I'd click on it. But it does not come up on all Cellar video posts.
I have gotten pretty good at right clicking on the arrow-less black void, getting a box with "properties" at the bottom which will open a bunch of info including a youtube addy. Copying and pasting that to an address bar opens the video. Takes about 5-10 seconds. The NAG link opens with the elusive arrow where it should be and clicking on it starts the vid. Takes under 5 seconds. I can avoid this routine if I use Google Chrome instead of Windows Explorer, but I find other features of GC less rewarding. perhaps just from having long experience with WE. The NAG site is also on WE, so I was curious about the difference. As I said, it is interesting, not earth-shaking. I do think that Vimeo and other vid sites also work better on GC, but I don't mind missing the occasional visual teat. |

OK, I opened this thread with IE 10 and got the black boxes for each video.
So I followed your lead and right clicked, the the box came up but so did the Malwarebytes warning notice. Curiouser and curiouser? |
Heh, Explorer just rocks, don't it?
My version of FF is 13 generations old. |
Is this gonna be due to that http vs https thing?
|
yes

I've spent hours watching these commentated marble races, and getting really excited about specific marbles, rooting for them and tracking their progress throughout the season.
Me, yelling to the other room to tell my kids who just won a race and where it puts their points standing for the tournament. |
I've never seen the Malwarebytes box in any context.
If it is premium, you likely pay for it. I have used that technique a thousand times on at least 10 sites. Boy, am I in trouble. |
