Which Browser at home?

My kids' school is having problems with their website. They don't think they are, but many of us parents do. They all use Apple computers and Mozilla Firefox browser because that is what the school provides/mandates. Most of us having problems use IE on PCs. they say we should change to Firefox. I say they should make their website more universal. Anyhoo, I want to get a good picture of what the average person uses when browisng for fun in their own time in their own place (what browser they use, not what sex toy.... clean your mind!). So if you would indulge me, please partake in a little poll. I have separated off the IT people because I would like to see if there is a difference.

cheers.

Hmm can't see how to edit typos in polls....

That's funny. Usually it's Firefox being incompatible with a site designed for Windows. Up until recently, I was always having a problem with Amazon.com and Firefox. Either the new release of Firefox fixed the problem or Amazon upgraded their site because the problem stopped a few months ago.

Fixed the typo.

UT, do you have those figures for Cellar visitors? The number using various browsers? Not asking you to do any work at all, I just wonder if you have that info somewhere automatically reported to you.

I only use Firefox. Only time I ever use IE is to do Windows updates once a month.

I use both IE and Firefox at work, but only IE at home.

Don't really see much difference in them.

Firefox at work and home.

I'm the network administrator at work, as well as everything else.

I'd love to see those same stats without the IoTD crowd. I bet the reg'lar dwellars are more likely to use something other than IEEEEEEeeee!

I'd expect Firefox to score higher. But as Pie mentions, it's probably the teeming millions viewing the IotD that bump up IE.

I use SeaMonkey...you think that's being considered Mozilla or unknown?

There should be a way to check and see what http headers your browser sends. I've completely forgotten how though, for any browser whatsoever.

Edit: but after a quick googling it appears SeaMonkey will showup as Mozilla. I drew this conclusion because you can download extensions for it at mozdev...

Edit 2: LiveHTTPHeaders might be of interest...

I've got a lot of those Konqueror hits under my belt, but I went to FF.

Firefox, and I was an IT professional. Of course, that was before there was a web, really.
