Damn Interesting

Our old friend Allan Bellows writes about the Three Christs of Ypsilanti at his site, Damn Interesting.

I live about 10 yards from Ypsilanti.

Man, that Alan Bellows guy has some super good writers on his website.

;)

There’s no way to tell the time span from when a composition was written and when Copyist no. III transcribed it.

Hofer was jealous of his protégée and hid Biber’s manuscripts, so Biber killed Hofer in a lovers quarrel. :p:

What the fuck? Youze guys haven't read Clodfobble's debut as a writer on Damn Interesting? Or you did and didn't bother to comment on it? http://cellar.org/2012/nono.gif
Either way, you're in deep shit so you better get with the program if you want to get back in good graces. :crone:

I had commented over on Facebook, where I follow both Damn Interesting and that author who wrote that country without a map book.

At first I thought the page turning sounds were just sloppy mic work by Ms. Fobble as she read her story, but of course I should have known better than that. Mr. Bellows explains at the end that he did all those foley food mill effects.

One thing that jumped out at me about the story is how I lump old stuff together. From my perspective, it was some olden days guy who wrapped vegetables in a musical score written by some other olden days guy.

But those vegetables were wrapped in sheet music that was already a couple hundred years old for the grocer who did the wrapping. And when we look at the story, that grocer was a couple hundred years old to us. So they shouldn't be lumped together. It would be like if I wrapped vegetables in the War of 1812 Overture today, not Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice. That score was old.
