My 11yo windstar is in the shop so they gave me this!

Doesn't quite feel "me".......

How's the instrument cluster?

monster 06-05-2012 12:02 PM

Well if limey'd just get that goddam :tuba: out of my rear view it would all be OK.....

monster 06-05-2012 12:05 PM

Um, I managed to turn the radio on. And note the mileage. And start it twice (the rental chick seemed to think I should be orgasming over the push-button start malarkey). She's all "you're going to have so much fun driving this" -it's a blooming tank!

Not the same car, but .... still

Undertoad 06-05-2012 02:05 PM

Hey that was my rental before the Ford Flex!

Monster, remember this: the fuel door button is on the bottom of the driver's side door.

I drove it for 300 miles and turned it over to J. She found, what I didn't find in all that time, some radio controls are behind your hands on the steering wheel.

Gravdigr 06-05-2012 03:21 PM

Popdigr bought another Grand Cherokee a month or so ago, and, whaddya know, stereo controls on the back of the steering wheel.

Guess we ought to look at other cars more often than every fifteen yrs or so.

ETA: Anybody know where ya can download vehicle owner's manuals (I've tried googling)? The local junkyard wants $25 for a not-gently-used one!

jimhelm 06-05-2012 04:16 PM

My 99 Laredo had them, my 06 Commander has them. Nissan puts them on the front... the back is better... I sometimes hit the source button when turning the steering wheel in a nissan...

you know what's REALLY cool about the commander? Rain Sense wipers! They know when it's raining, and come on accordingly.

jimhelm 06-05-2012 04:26 PM

what manual are you looking for digr?

infinite monkey 06-05-2012 04:48 PM

I need a 2006 New Beetle 2.5 'vertible manual. ;)

jimhelm 06-05-2012 06:55 PM

NEVERMIND.

thought I found one. just links to the OBDII tables

TheMercenary 06-05-2012 07:07 PM

That should get you a few tickets for speeding.

Oh yeah, i picked it up empty, we had to fill in a hurry before swim practice and the play tonight, and for a minute I couldn't remember where it was...... this is the most ridiculous car ever. the interior is black, it' slike cruising around in a coffin.

monster 06-05-2012 07:39 PM

oh, just tried out the acceleration on the freeway ramp. It was kinda smoothe and fast. Shut the boys up for a second or two :D

TheMercenary 06-05-2012 07:51 PM
