It looks like people came from across the US and Canada to the Boston computer show, but they were probably students in the Boston area.

My first computer was a Tandy 1000EX. 256K RAM, one 5.25" floppy drive.

Why did so many ppl make fun of TRS 80s?? (They called them trash 80)

Maybe because Because Tandy's attempt to keep the price down ended up severely limiting capability and flexibility. Besides, Tom Watson over at IBM said there was no market for computers, so this was just a toy for a few nerds.

Mine was a bargain!

OK, I guess in 1989 that was a pretty snazzy computer.

But I started heavily using PCs when the 486 was standard in 91 or 92, and those 386 machines were pieces of shit.

It's only now that we're hitting the limits and Moore's law is no longer in effect -- a computer isn't made obsolete in three years.

Good. Maybe software firms will tighten up the code they write so the existing hardware can run it faster. Software marketers will brag that it runs fast on existing machines. I would love to see competition focused on that area instead of writing ever more bloated software but it doesn't matter because the machines keep getting faster and can just barely handle it.

And hardware, my flatbed scanner crapped out. No problem, just drag out the previous scanner which still worked fine. Nope, Google couldn't find any software, from anyone, for anything newer than Windows XP. :(
I could run a virtual XP in 7, I already do that for outlook express, but didn't want the hassle for the scanner.
