Six large cities in Kansas? WTF?

Oh, wait, this quiz is from Kansas. Nevermind.

Man, that took longer than I'd have thought. Pretty sure it's not a venemous one, at least...

I FOUND IT!

Well, maybe I just never lost it.

Same pic, cropped and rotated.
Poisonous Copperhead.

That's good camo, although the pic looks like it was manipulated.

Looks like a copperhead to me. I could be wrong, there are some imitators, and look-a-likes.

I treat all snek as venomous, though.

After looking at the YouTube video about this picture twice, I can find what is supposed to be the snake.

Ooh, I think you're right. Looks like it would be death for me then. (Assuming I ever went outdoors, which I try to strictly avoid.)

When I was in SF, there was a demonstration team at Ft. Bragg that had a small village set up in the woods. Visitors would walk through to see all the demonstrations. Along the way, they would see snake prepared for consumption and it was served to them. One of the other nicknames for the Green Berets, "snake eaters", developed from that.

Back then; also, there circulated an artist's drawing that depicted an Green Beret sitting on the ground, snarling, tying a dressing around his lower leg, with an opened "Snake Bite" kit on the ground next to him. Near him was a snake, coiled up, head raised, snarling, a dressing wrapped around its body, pulling taught a dressing tie held in its mouth, with a "Man Bite" kit on the ground next to it.

I don't think that drawing made it to the internet as I've never seen it there.

BTW, I did indeed catch and eat snakes during the survival portion of Special Forces training. Not something I'd buy at the grocery store.
