Profit From Cars

2 Attachment(s)
If you see someone doing stupid things with cars there's a good chance the hope to profit from it.
I'm not talking about impaired drivers or hold my beer, but calculated stunts to amuse.

Now it's usually looking for money for nothing from clicks for free.

Attachment 70250

No harm no foul I guess.

Happy Monkey 04-10-2020 11:47 AM

The latter one could definitely harm.

xoxoxoBruce 04-10-2020 02:13 PM

He's not going out of the parking lot with that one because he can't turn the wheels far enough to turn a corner without the tire rubbing the paint. Just for shock (click) value.

Not to mention those extensions would never hold up.
It would make for a pretty spectacular failure at speed, though, which byItSelf would make for good clickBait..

I couldn't find the What Is This thread, but I think this one will do.

Saw this driving in Norwalk, OH a few days ago.

That is sort of like what dealers did to new cars at the beginning of the model year.
Back when the cars changed every year and when they looked different form each other.

BigV 04-16-2020 06:37 PM

that's cool!

I believe our from Diamond Jim is right about the camouflaging attempt.

xoxoxoBruce 04-16-2020 10:42 PM

Yes, it's camo but not a dealer, this is a manufacturer doing real world testing on a new model, or more likely new sheet metal on an existing model.

beauregaardhooligan 04-17-2020 07:04 AM

I'm pretty sure Bruce is correct about that.
I was wondering what mfg, looks kinda fordish to me.

Definitely Ford, look at the mirror.

Diaphone Jim 04-18-2020 10:47 AM

Mirror? I thought that was an air brake.

yes, we see cars like this around here a lot -AA is within COVID distance of Detroit and home to many engineers etc. who work for the big manufacturers.
