Mozilla works now
OK -- I'm typing this in the latest nightly build of Mozilla, in which it is claimed that the new most "vile" (Mozillazine's words) textarea bugs have been FIXED.
And sure enough, if I'm at the bottom of a textarea, and hit the downarrow or rightarrow, the cursor stays put, exactly where it should be. Awesome. Mozilla 1 is going to be out by the spring, and it will be just fine. |
That would explain the flurry of emails I've been getting from Bugzilla. :-) Yay!

Mozilla Rocks
I've been using it for quite a while. It still rocks, and it doesn't do a lot of nasty COM object thingies with installing the plugins in your OS system folder :). It's also not gated to half your OS. Therefore, it's safe and happy.
From what I've seen with Galeon and Mozilla itself, it's one of the two best standards-compliant browsers out there (alone with IE for Mac, surprisingly!). Will this mean that we'll be seeing more and more of Mozilla around? |
The fixing of these problems will lead to more Mozilla usage on the Cellar, yeah. But elsewhere, it won't happen until 1.0 goes out in the spring. After that I think you'll see more Mozilla advocacy, as well as advocacy for whatever Netscape version is based on it.
I have a rough idea for a webpage on "power browsing with Mozilla", because I've been putting it through its paces for over a year now. |
