Scientists: Cosmic blob biggest thing in universe
(SPACE.com) -- An enormous amoeba-like structure 200 million light-years wide and made up of galaxies and large bubbles of gas is the largest known object in the universe, scientists say. The narrow band image is in the green band while the V image is in the red and blue bands so that Lyman alpha emitters appear as green objects. There are two emitters in this small region of the field. http://www.ifa.hawaii.edu/faculty/hu/22_la.gif |

Guys, it's amoeba-like because it is one! Just like every human can be likened to a 'cell' in the 'organism' that is earth, every galaxy is like a cell in that big amoeba! Fractals! Every piece, no matter what size, has the whole inside it! Inside subatomic particles? The universe again!
