Photobucket

Have an account there now. Below the photos there's 3 lines of code. Which one do I need to link photos at cellar?

Something starting with a left square bracket and IMG?

Below each PhotoBucket picture are three designations...
The first one is URL. If you highlight this one, copy/paste, it shows up as a link to that photo that the person reading has to click on to see.
The second one is Tag. I do not know what that one does.
The thrid one is IMG. If you highlight this one, copy/paste, it shows up as a picture in your thread.

Thanks guys.

I used the "Quote" to see that some images posted here use the IMG tag, then I noticed that PhotoBucket provides a convenient IMG to copy/paste. Two things, while we're on the subject: #1: some images I "Quoted" just showed up as nothing (how did they post those?) and #2: I've seen some PhotoBucket images here that said something like "image no longer available" and I'm wondering, is that when your PhotoBucket account lapses for some reason, or do the pics there just "timeout" after a pre-determined period? (It's my wife's account, I never read "The Rules"...)

I'm not sure and I'll have to go back and check my account to see if there is a time limit or amount of pics limit. I always assumed either the picture was removed by the person or PB was doing maintenance.

If the "quote" shows nothing, the picture was posted here and will stay with the thread, even into the archives. When you read an old thread that shows those little red boxes with a red X, it's a photo that was linked from elsewhere that is no longer available.
To post them here;
Click on "post reply"
Write your message
Scroll down to "Aditional Options"
Click "Manage Attachments" which opens a pop-up box (If you have a pop-up blocker, you have to deal with that...holding the "ctrl" key usually works.)
It will give you the option of uploading from a URL or from your PC by using "Browse"
Find your image and click "upload"
If you want to post a second picture (max 2 per post) just repeat the browse and upload
Close the pop-up box
Click "Submit Message"
That's it!
Your best bet is jpg format although it will accept some others as described in the pop-up box. :2cents:
The max jpg size is 146.5 KB(post total) and 1600x1600
About 8 to 9 inches wide with a resolution of about 75 should give you a good picture that's small enough to load 2 pics per post and load fast...not only for you but people viewing on dial-up.

Thanks, Bruce. The "going away" of images was troublesome to me...

xoxoxoBruce 10-03-2006 10:43 AM

Me too, especially when half the posts in the thread are referring to a picture that's not there.
