Note passing

Well lil' Griff got her first note from a boy today. The amazing thing was she showed it to me. Cool. Extremely cute note full of nice sentiments in pretty bad English from one of the new Korean kids. She has a "good face." I like that she has helped this kid feel comfortable at school. He's in a tough spot having to rely on a another kid for a lot of translation. He thinks the bilingual kid is getting tired of him... I may suggest they see if we can find a Korean class Mom.

I never had the courage to write a not to the girls I liked. Good for him.

If you'd have been in class with one of Griff's daughters, you'd have found the courage, pierce. They are stunning. ;)

I hear that. The kid showed guts and tenacity writing in a language he's not too familiar with. thanks Bruce, I will continue to emphasize how YOUNG they are. :)

I remember the first note I got from a boy (I used to pass notes to my friends all the time). It was a backwards card made out of purple construction paper with a badly drawn flower on it from a kid named Brian. Inside, it had his number and call me on it. I forget what grade I was in when I got it, but pre-high school, maybe even pre-middle school. I showed it to my mom and she FREAKED and took it away so I wouldn't call him. I always felt bad about that. what if I crushed the poor boy because my mother was psycho??

It is a nice feeling, though

Did you check the note for radioactivity?

It's nice that she showed it to you. My nine year old probably would, too. My 15 year old doesn't tell us anything unless we drag it out of her.

Do you have a waterboard? You can pick them up at the army surplus stores now.
