Fleas

Goddamn fucking fleas. We have a nascent infestation from the friggin no account cats. This shit pisses me off. The frontline was not applied by homegirl soon enough and now the fuckers are all over and I have to spray the friggin house.

LIKE I DON'T ALREADY HAVE ENOUGH OTHER SHIT TO DO AROUND HERE. PITA. I've already been bitten a few times tonight.

I swear to god, I will be so pissed if I get bubonic plague from those fucking filthy creatures. And she thinks I'm gonna green light a dog.

as if.

I like it!!

I had a patient with a bad case of fleas a couple weeks ago.

Imagine having to isolate an entire psychiatric unit.

I tried to get the ambulance crew to go out for a large dog sized flea color for him, but it didn't work.

The fleas were a lot better than the rule out diagnosis, which was scabies.

Oh Foot3...fleas are merely an insignificant annoyance compared to the day the Inchling comes home from school with lice. Now THAT'S a pita to get rid of.

Shouldn't be a problem, we plan to keep him locked in a closet until he's 23.

I jest. But that may be reason #924 for home schooling.

You gotta kill each stage of the life cycle. In my experience, "spray" is not effective. You need to get where they live - in the carpet. Powder the carpet and vacuum throughly, repeat, repeat, repeat. Ask your doctor for some Atarax. And don't forget to put the damn flea medicine on the cats!

Clodfobble 10-27-2006 09:52 AM

OR... you could have nice clean snakes as pets instead of filthy mammals. :2cents:

If Ray hadn't been a fierce killer of mice as a kitten his flea bitten urine spraying butt would be out of here. Unfortunately, I owe him from the living in the shed building the house days so he is untouchable.

barefoot serpent 10-27-2006 11:00 AM

time to carpet bomb the joint...

get the spray -- even a few more than recommended -- MAKE SURE ALL PILOT LIGHTS ARE OUT (re: MythBusters episode) and other possible ignition sources cut 'em loose and evacuate for a day or three.

[music] the joint is jumpin'...
it's really hoppin'...
[/music] ;)

Flint 10-27-2006 11:45 AM

I don't think a spray really gets into the carpet as well as a heavy coat of powder, which has been brushed in (while wearing a mask).
You have to get deep into the carpet because that's where all their little dormant life cycles are brewing. there's a carpet bomb pun here somehwere

I love the smell of methyl carbamate in the morning...

footfootfoot 10-27-2006 02:11 PM

Yeah we have a mondo can of the balls vet kem indutrial strenght shit that has a ten miunte knock down for adults and interupts the life cycle of the eggs, larva, what have you, by loving them long time. This happened once before and it worked quite well.

Griff and I are in a similar boat re: mouse killing expolits of Ernie and Loretta. We are pretty damn mouse free around here. knock wood.

I have the tools and technology, could use the time.

Foot^3, our dog gets something anti-flea along with her heartworm pill. Makes her unattractive to fleas.

You might look into something like that for your cats.

footfootfoot 11-05-2006 06:27 AM

The frontline, when applied in a timely fashion works well. The problem arose when they got overdue for their treatment.

Seems like the fleas are all gone now.
