when I pour salt into a styrofoam cup it has little blue "threads" in it...wtf? kthx

My first thought, too. But...little blue threads? Also, I don't know why I've never seen them before. The static electricity of the styrofoam causes it to form little doodles? I don't know, but it happens every time. I wish all of you would go and pour some little packets of salt into the bottom of a dry styrofoam cup (like a little coffee cup) and tell me what you see.

I can't find any styrofoam cups but I found a small plate and poured salt on it and nothing happened. I'm probably the victim of some sort of joke.

Try this with salt out of your home shaker, Flint. Same result, beats me. No threads, I wouldn't be sprinklin' no more of those little packets on my fries anymore...do you pee green?

Actually I don't consume it. In fact, I never add extra salt to my food. In this case, I am at work, I get some kind of food stuck in my teeth, and I go to the cafeteria, get a handful of salt packets, a little cup, and I go in the bathroom and pour them in the cup and add hot water, and then I alternate flossing and swishing hot saltwater.

But before I add the water, I always see these little blue thingees in there, and I try to pick them out.

I'd examine the salt packet itself. I bet it's from the salt packet. Maybe ink from the label?
