A busy weekend at my computer!
As I am leaving tomorrow for another stint in Atlanta taking care of mom and dad for at least 6-8 weeks I decided to rip alot of my CDs to MP3 files to take with me. I ripped 122 jazz CD's and about 160 classical ones. On my nest trip I'll do all my Rock/Pop/Vocalists, Blues and movie soundtracks.
I tend to not watch much TV so the music is always nice to have! |
What are you using for a ripper / encoder? My process is a bit tedious since I don't want any bad reads getting through.

Using an iPod, right? Or, multiple iPods?
|
I have found Itunes to be the best for ripping CDs to mp3s. It's a lot faster than MusicMatch, for me anyway.
|
iTunes and WMP work at about the same speed for me for cd ripping. Though iTunes is sometimes a bit better at gathering artist information.
|
ripping sounds so -- violent!

ask the riaa... seems you're ripping their profits away.. don't get me wrong! I think artists deserve to be paid for their work. (as a former musician especially) but I think they ought to be paid more for it and the recording companies taking a little less of a cut. I'll rip cds all day long, but if a band I like comes thru I'll go straight to the show and buy the cd from them personally.
