I heard that Lucas released a press statement saying that he wasn't going to do the gigantic merchandising rape that was perpetrated on TPM and seen above.
Furthermore, he said that TPM didn't "live up to expectations". Translation: Lucas admits that Ep1 sucked. May 16 baby...here we go. ~mike |

they were expensive, too
I remember seeing these back when they came out. They were, like, $5 each or something! Crazyiness.

Yeah, when I worked at Hastings (music/video rental/book store), they sold these. You could move a little lever and Jar Jar's mouth would open and close. Oh man, we had fun with those. We'd run around with it, opening and closing it's mouth, and basically acting like freaks.

I bought a bunch of these a year ago for christmas (apparently no one else had wanted them so they were on clearance at We Be Toys) and gave them out to all my friends.
Saved one for myself, too. Christ almighty it was some of the foulest tasting candy I've ever had in my life. Of course, at that time it was probably at least 1 or 2 years old, and I *was* sucking on Jar Jar's tongue ... nasty, nasty, nasty. sapienza |
