Brits in Basra

Michael Yon with the Royal Tank Regiment, infantry from the Duke of Lancasters, and from the Yorkshire Regiment. Describing night action with a few night vision pictures and a short video. Commendable Chaps.

Basra was once a very safe place among the conquered territories in Iraq. As responsible military analysts note, the longer we occupy, then more enemies are created. What happens when the Brits leave this area by next year?

Basra is the main supply path for Americans. Brits will be leaving soon. So who will move in to protect those supply lines. Eight hundred trucks a day are required just to service the Green Zone in Baghdad. A region that few Americans can leave because Americans are so welcome by Iraqis. Michael Yon describes events in a much safer area - where once Brits did not need helmets and body armor.

Just another example of what happens when war is fought without even a strategic objective. Just another example of what "Mission Accomplished" has accomplished. Just another example right out of history when another American president lies so much - could not even provide a strategic objective or exit strategy - as if 'big dic' actions automatically mean victory.
