Things aren't always what they appear at first glance.

At the period of the first settlement of Whitestown, the Indian title had not been extinguished to any portion of the country westward of "The line of Property....". Most of the Oneida tribe of Indians had maintained their professions of friendship for the white man in an honorable manner. Judge White, as a frontier settler along the Sauquoit Creek, was required to exercise much diplomacy in dealing with his red neighbors. He soon acquired their good will and was fortunate to inspire them with very exalted ideas of his character. An incident that occurred between an Oneida Indian and Hugh White sealed a lasting friendship and confidence. An Oneida Indian of rather athletic form was one day present at the White's house with several of his companions and at length for fun commenced wrestling. After many trials, the chief became conqueror and he came up to Hugh White and challanged him. White dared not risk being brow beaten by an Indian nor did he want to be called a coward. In early manhood, he had been a wrestler, but of late felt he was out of practice. He felt conscious of personal strength and he concluded that even should he be thrown, that would be the lesser of two evils in the eyes of the Oneida Indians than to acquire the reputation of cowardice by declining. He accepted the challenge, took hold of the Indian and by a fortunate trip, succeeded almost instantly in throwing him. As he saw him falling, in order to prevent another challenge, he fell upon the Indian for an instant and it was some moments before he could rise. When the Indian finally rose, he shrugged his shoulders and was said to have muttered "UGH", you good fellow too much". Hugh White became a hero in the eyes of the Oneida Indians. This incident made more manifest the respect of the Indian for White. In all ways, White dealt fairly with the Oneida tribe and gained their confidence, which brought about good-will.

I guess you can't judge a book by it's cover. When I look at that picture , all I see is a horny white dude, and an indian.

bluecuracao 07-26-2007 07:23 PM

They do look quite passionate.

xoxoxoBruce 07-26-2007 08:06 PM

...and all this time I thought the tear running down the old Indian's cheek was because of litter.

xoxoxoBruce 07-28-2007 12:32 PM

Naw, it's because Iron Eyes Cody was born too late to know Judge White.

bluecuracao 07-28-2007 04:17 PM

Judge White liked Italian boys, too?

Long Lance, the 1928 thrilling first-person account of Chief Buffalo Child Long Lance, was the work of Sylvester Long, an African-American who conned the literary world into believing he was a Cherokee, and then a Cree. While the ruse lasted, Buffalo Child Long Lance was a hit on the lecture circuit and one of the darlings of New York society. His spree ended when the truth about his background was exposed in 1930, and he killed himself with a shot to the head in 1931.

This is from the Snopes article debunking the myth that Iron Eyes Cody was an Indian. Long Lance was another pretend Indian. Had to post it here cuz, Long Lance is just a great gay porno name.

Rhianne 07-28-2007 05:00 PM

Are you an expert on gay porno Harold? Heehee.

Weird Harold 07-28-2007 05:24 PM

I'm just very intuitive.

Rhianne 07-28-2007 05:48 PM

Ha, nicely played!

xoxoxoBruce 07-29-2007 01:51 AM

Played? You mean he's not a queer porn star but he plays one?

Urbane Guerrilla 07-29-2007 02:47 AM

Long Lance would work just as well for a Japanese gay porn star -- "Wanna see my torpedo?"
