Good at finding lost things?
You clicked the thread, so I really hope you are.
Imagine: You are a strung out college kid, head reeling from another all nighter. While getting ready for work, you knot your tie and pat your pockets to find, hey, you are out of cigarettes. Neat. I'm a notorious packrat, I'm completely broke, careless with change and I leave for work in an hour. I'm searching my house looking for places that I might have left spare change. Checked the couch and under the bed, I'm going to keep searching and refreshing this thread every now and then hoping you folks might know of some other spots. Weird request, I know... But think! Where do you leave your change? I might have left some there too! Help!!! |
In a jar on the dresser? Did you look there?
|
Up to $1.30.
No, I wish I was so organized to have a jar of change, or even a dresser to put it on. I'm going through unwashed pants now with some success... |
Check the pockets of pants and jackets.
Check near where you stand when you undress. Check near where you normally put your wallet. Also, if you are near a large bank of vending machines, gt a stick and scrape out under the machines. This is best done at night, but I've come up with a few dollars that way in the past. No no wait, it's for cigarettes. Don't encourage him, people. Bad bad Baaaaaaaad. |

Hey, trust me, if I don't buy a pack I'm just going to jimmy car locks and rifle through ashtrays. I work on a car lot, I've done this. :D |
Holy crap, vending machine idea is awesome. Doing that once I get to work.
|
I used the vending machine idea with an umbrella on some of my furniture.
Acquired: .67 cents (score!) An old gum eraser An issue of Maxim with Hillary Duff on the cover A hash pipe with a cracked stem See, it's like Zork, except I'm having a nic fit. |
And, time for work. Final score: $2.76
With any luck those vending machines are sitting on a goldmine. Thanks, folks. Later! |
if you have a car, check around & under the seats there
|
Newspaper stands may have loose change in the slot.
The coffee shop counter has silver in front of it right in front of the cash register. There is money on the gas station grounds. Clean your car out while looking for change at the gas station. Look for holes in the lining of your coat pockets...change falls into the lining. Just go to a gas station to buy your cigarettes. Money will be there if you look hard enough. |
ask strangers for spare change. take a puppy with you. tell them it's for puppy chow. then smoke away your guilt.
|
Check the bottom of your laundry basket.
|
two suggestions:
1. Check the pockets of all your suits 2. I don't know if they sell loosies by you but if so then do it up. |
Probably too late for you, but try the drawers in the kitchen -particularly the cutlery one and the one you sweep everything into when you're expecting visitors.
My son finds underneath the Coinstar machines to be much better hunting ground than the vending machines. Also, I've noticed there's a handy little box of change by the cash registers in McDonalds. |
