what fame can do

first off a question to you:

do you think becoming famous turns people just a little bit fruity
or
is it more likely that you would do better at being famous if you where a nutbar to begin with?

but don't answer just yet, that would be jumping the gun just a tad.

although i am not yet buyist on this and there is plenty of evidence to suggest that both answers are probable but it is still a fact that getting famous obviously suits some people alot more than others and the pressures of stardom are too much for some people to stay sane

i have a few examples of this, but unless otherwise stated in sarcastic or other means, this is no way a personal stab at these people, well ok.. maybe just a little... but you can guess who.

the most obvious example of a person changing with stardom would have to be michael jackson although by the looks of the rest of his family and the childhood he endured it's probably not entirely his fault.. but anyway, way to go mike

or an artist's impression

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...ebam9/mike.jpg

people like to predict things

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o.../mikemorph.jpg

another obvious selection has to be good old ozzy..
after all he did go from being at least semi normal:

to completely unintellegable, prematurely senile and/or completely insane

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o.../ozzy_yell.jpg

next may be the greatest example of what fame can do to people in this way.. daniel johns.. starting his rise to fame at just fourteen and being thrust into relentless touring left him spent, dealing with fame proved well too difficult for him which resulted in annorexia and various other ailments... fame physically changed him.
although he did get through it ok phisically we must use this as a warning.. fame can steal talent, make you whine and leave you dillusional enough to think anything is a masterpiece.

fame: robbing us of good music since 1997.

note the eye shadow..ON ONE EYE! did he forget halfway?

sidenote on johns: does this look familiar to you?

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...bam9/johns.jpg

yeah, me too

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...es-5001006.jpg

elton john, would you possibly believe he ever looked or acted slightly normal?
ok, it;s not too normal

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...bam9/elton.jpg

but it's not an overwieght bitchy queen on rollerskates or a douche in a duck suit

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...elton-john.jpg

billy corgan, just a great writer/most things that went from normal:

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...illycorgan.jpg

to something that scares children and satan alike.. or at least make you think he wants suck your neck in a not so passionate fashion

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...am9/billy2.jpg

sidenote: interesting question
do you think this plus this:

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...minemBilly.jpg

equals queermance singer gerard way?

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...am9/gerard.jpg

ahh, ben lee.. i thought i'd never get to him.
look at young ben frollicking with his boyhood friends

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...eeyoungfag.jpg

and as an adult

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...am9/LeeBen.jpg

ok so nothings changed but look at his giant stupid head, he is and always will be the slightly human equivalent of a shit sandwich that can talk in a pitch likened only to how shit enya is.

ahh, that was refreshing.. a little bit more of a witch hunt then i intended but you get the idea..

whadda ya reckon digger?

Is this Aussie-Hip-speek for you don't 'buy it'? or did you mean biased?

I think it's pretty much a given that the more level-headed you are, the better you'll make out....:D

I'd sooooool do Billy Corgan all satan-like.

Oh, dont be knocking Dan Johns, he's just a little eccentric and really cute. Ibby would do him!

I think DJ looks pretty hot these days...in an emaciated kinda way. Shames he's married to one of the sexiest women in music...actually, I'm married too...so I guess it doesn't matter. ;)

srsly though, some people are fruitloops. If you think it only affects people in the music industry, you probably need to have a closer look at the person sitting next to you...or even yourself. lol

Everyone has nutbar potential. It's just that some industries reward it while others stifle it. (see the men in suits who have coronaries at aged 35 because they're not allowed to smile except when they're totally trashed on drugs and or alcohol)

yeah true, i know .. most of my friends are complete nutbags.. apparently including me.. (i don't see it) but the point i'm making here is that fame accentuates this.. i chose the music industry simply because it's what i know the best and being a creative industry it is one that rewards it like you say.

and thankyou
