NSFW: Tattooed grandmother
4 Attachment(s)
I was going to IotD these but they're NSFW, and NSF a lot of other things as well. I think they might stimulate discussion, so I'm giving them their own thread.
These pics were forwarded to me, I have no idea of the details. I discussed this with a friend? Is this art? or attention whoring? Is it the enhancement of her body? or the debasement of it? Our conclusion was that while the graphics of the tattoos are in a traditional sense art, the act of being tattooed like this was performance art in that it had made us stop and think about the way people treat their bodies. and yay! for tattooed and pierced grandmothers. We are a special breed. That lady had to have been collecting for many, many years. |
I don't get all the metal in her crotch. What's with the 3 little balls on chains?
|
They are weights.
|
OK, that makes even less sense to me...what is the purpose of pulling down on the rings??
|
For purposes of exhibition at the convention, they are probably just decorative; swinging weights can also produce pleasurable sensations
|
Ahhh. I wondered if they were all there all the time. That's a lotta crap to jam in your undies, if you wear them.
|
piffle! I know lots of folks with more metal than that. I even know a few folks with as much tattoing.
It's not a competition, you know? Only sometimes . . . it is! :) |

I hope I am in that good of shape and that comfortable with my body at that point in my life. I find this sort of thing admirable. |
? such metal does not react to magnets--it's stainless steel ?
and yeah, she's in pretty good shape. Good for her! |
I guess that is true...I didn't think of that! :)
|
I think about it every time I pass through a metal detector. :)
|
My first thought was that, much like a hotel carpet, the busy pattern serves to hide the stains. :)
This reflects my artistic aesthetic more than my opinion of full-body tattooing, however--I just like things that my brain can interpret, that's all. Too much crammed into one place without any apparent cohesiveness is not appealing to me. I have seen many tattoo sleeves or other large murals that I've liked. |
