Is There Any Other Auction Site Besides Ebay
There has to be so sort of competition out there, does anyone know of any.
|
Amazon.com is the main competitor now, with "new and used" listings on almost every item.

But most of our online purchases are through Craig's List, which is more like an on-line garage sale, being thrown by everybody all at the same time. Go to the pages for your city and find almost anything, available for buy/sell/trade. I like that I can just drive over to the person's house, hand them the cash, and drive off with the actual item in my hands, that same day. |
that, and shipping for a blow up doll is brutal...not to mention the embarrassment you suffer when one of her uninflated arms escapes the packaging just as the mailman hands it to you......
...i would imagine... |
My husband has used craiglist to buy and sell things. Its free.
I've sold a few things on Amazon. Not sure how their commission compares to ebay. They have a scale based on what type of item it is... |
Do tell us why you want one, though, Joann. We're nosy. Well I am anyway. Something you can't find in Ebay? Ebay have finally pissed you off so much you can't take any more? banned from Ebay? You've found a cornflake that looks like Barack Obama but the market for those is saturated on Ebay?

Craig's List can be amazing at times. I sold my 125 gallon fish tank (with fish) on Super Bowl Sunday within 2 hours.
I had my son put up the ad, as he has sold many items on Craig's List. He warned me that anybody that showed up with all their teeth and speaking English would be the exception, rather than the rule. Couple showed up, paid cash and took the fish that day. I won't use Evil-Bay for a number of reasons, mostly their anal-retentive banning of certain merchandise (and words) that they think are not politically correct. |
Don't you know how offensive the word "fish" can be? *sob* and the tank reference is just... unnecessary

Well she didn't say if she's looking to buy or sell.. but Ebay recently changed its policies in ways that aren't all that favorable to sellers.
|
and weren't they somewhat glib about it? basically saying that the brand recognition they have at this point gives them enough leverage to charge whatever the fock they want in fees? I think I'll look into buying their stock.

They keep raising fees and then lowering fees but Hiring the final cost after an auction is over etc… I guess what im trying to find is if there is any real competition to ebay that maybe we could use and maybe make ebay stop screwing around with their prices so much. Not to metion they also own pay pal so they get you both ways with the fees. Dont get me wrong I still like ebay and pay pal, I am just seeing if there is anything else out there. Thanks for all the info I got, I am going to go through some of those website now. :p |
Radar, that was a good list but no auction list is complete without mentioning the site where all the Xrated people went to sell their blow up dolls and such... Fetish Auctioneer!
