For U.S. Peeps--Spring Forward

Don't forget, it's this weekend!

was that expletive to my address, sir?

It's just that I always forget, and it's a month early this year.

Yea! That pesky morning sunshine will be replaced with pitch darkness. And when I'm sitting in my interior office with no windows, it will be lighter in the afternoon. Oh, and we get to lose an hour of sleep this weekend.

Awesome!

Oh, wait. It's the opposite of awesome.

It is no reflection on your greatness, which is unchallenged. It refers only to the lack of awesomeness of the clock nonsense and my illness / physical exhaustion.

Cloud 03-07-2008 07:00 PM

well then, it's a mistake to delete these things, then--get it off your chest!

lumberjim 03-07-2008 07:23 PM

I'm only setting mine forward 1/2 an hour.

Cloud 03-07-2008 07:33 PM

the spirit of compromise in action!

xoxoxoBruce 03-07-2008 10:15 PM

I set mine 12 hours ahead.

-Spring Forward...Not in Arizona

Arizona one of the last of the freethinkers who refuse to comply with darklight saving time......

For the U.S. and its territories, Daylight Saving Time is NOT observed in Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, and Arizona.:headshake

They studied 7 million electric bills over three years in Indiana where for decades 77 counties chose to skip the spring ahead and fall behind. In 2006, the State Legislature ended the boycott, and the Hoosiers seem to have the last laugh. Against intuition and contrary to the entire point of government policy, the study found that daylight saving time resulted in an $8.6 million increase in spending on residential electricity.

in my house......when it's dark in the am, i have to turn lights on to get ready. i always come home after sunset, regardless of what day of the year it is. i'm just one household, but i imagine others are similar.

i dont really care though. i like it being light out at 9pm in june.

If you cared about the environment at all you'd use a flash light... and you'd be really super quiet...

xoxoxoBruce 03-08-2008 01:52 PM

That's what you get for letting him sleep in the big house.
