Well, I fucked up and picked the last one that said something about 40. Of course, this would be wrong. I'm 51, and having some seriously wonderful sex and love.

Well sorry about that. I thought I had a question for 40 and over but somehow I messed up. I had one empty poll question and too sleepy or lazy to write a good statement I stuck in the goat cheese one.

So Elspode. You are IN love? that romantic rush ..butterflies ? I know when I have wonderful sex I think I am in love too. Although you might think I am being simplistic but it is true. My emotions are tied up in sex and if I could have remembered this, as I just now did, I may not have had to write a poll.:smack:

No - scratch that. I'm pretty sure I could have sex tomorrow, but one of the men I don't find sexually attractive and the other would be quite dangerous in a moth to the flame way.

I actually contacted a speed dating agency yesterday to see if there were any places left at an event next week. No reply, so I take that as a no! I'd just like to start with some good, fun dates, rather than the murky world of casual sex.

The whole conventional concept of "dating" scares the bejeezus out of me. The idea of setting up a time, seeing how it goes...though I dated my ass off ;) in younger days, I just don't see me doing it now. Like shopping for a guy. I always think something will grow out of a friendship, or will just happen. It's not a healthy attitude, and will probably keep me alone for some time...but still I tell guys "I'm sorry, I don't date."

Luckily, I'm quite comfortable with my own company. Sad, eh?

I don't think being comfortable by yourself is sad. I think it is healthy.

Case is right, Shawnee. If it's completely a choice for you then it is very healthy. It's only when you want a relationship or to be close to another person and feel incapable of achieving it that there is anything to feel sad about.

I read an article in the newspaper a couple of weeks ago on speed dating. I have not gone to one of these but, according to this report, in this area the men do not show up. Good for the ones that do as they are outnumbered by the women 10 to 2!

Thanks case and SG. I always wonder if it's this big giant brick wall and large moat I have surrounding me; but I do believe what is meant to be will.

It's just the future future future that worries me: maybe I will end up being lonely old crazy cat lady. :)

SG, let me know how speed dating goes. That does sound like fun!

I actually think I would have enjoyed trying that back when I was single.


I don't like wine much at all.. so comparing love to wine has potentially troublesome implications for me. (At least if I'm wanting to make a positive comparison. :angel: )
