I still cry every time too. what? it hurts!

I reckon kids, in particular boys have problems with their first haircut often because hairdressers seem to insist on using electric clippers 'to get the job done quickly'. I think the sound of the clippers is probably very scarey to little kids.

My 2 LOVE having their haircut....bloody little princesseseses.

Our salon has a portable dvd player that we put on for kids, or we let them draw on the mirrors with whiteboard markers.

Is this Labrat's youngun? Man...I totally get his discomfort. Never cottoned to that myself.

Shawnee123 05-08-2008 11:48 AM

That first pic is priceless! :)

LabRat 05-08-2008 12:18 PM

No, not mine (I have a daughter). But now I want to dig up the pics of her first haircut. The place I took her to for that had a jungle theme. A couple alligator swings for the really little ones, and some stationary rocking horses on pedestals for the older but not yet big enough for the 'real' chair ones. TV with cartoons playing too, to distract them.

Sorry, you're the only Leah I know here. :) Probably should have remembered the gender of your child, though. Doh!

Oh, yeah. Noisy clippers. And they took his binky!

Ida kicked em. Haters.

Lil Lookout was 3 days old when he got his first haircut. What? His mom is a hairdresser.

TheMercenary 05-09-2008 10:26 AM

Poor fella.

Leah 05-11-2008 06:07 PM

OMG. that's my baby boy, Alex. It was so so so funny, I couldn't stop laughing at his facial expressions. He was so up set, but he looked a million dollars after the cut. I can't believe he's nearly 17 months old. Where has the time gone. I hope you all loved the pic's. A good one to pull out on his 21st birthday

dar512 05-12-2008 09:34 AM

By then he'll have a sense of humor and be able to laugh about it. Where's the fun in that?

For maximum impact you should share it with his prom dates etc.
