An inconvenient sickness

So after months and months working on the same project, I get a break and get sent to a 4 day SQL Server class this week. My vacation is also imminent.

Last week I started sneezing and coughing. It began as an occasional tickle in my throat. Yesterday I went to my first class and by the end of the day I was making this ugly wet noise when I breathed hard.

Fortunately, my doctor had evening hours last night. Her diagnosis - it's either bronchitis or walking pneumonia. She said the treatment was the same for both so she didn't see any reason to send me for an x-ray.

So I'm still going to class, along with an inhaler, acetaminophen, sugar free candy, etc. At night I'm taking antibiotics and chicken soup (lots of leftover matzoh ball mixes from Passover).

Every stinking germ had better be dead before I board the plane for Vegas.:mad2:

And I was going to guess it was the boogy-woogy flu.

Gah! There is just too much crap going around this year. Let's pledge to take a break from illness.

Clodfobble 05-22-2008 09:57 AM

I haven't been sick yet this year; I'm willing to sell my sickness offsets to you at $20 per day.

HungLikeJesus 05-22-2008 10:19 AM

I thought you were in the hospital earlier this year.

Shawnee123 05-22-2008 10:28 AM

Hey, speaking of sick, aren't you supposed to be dead, HLJ? :eyebrow:

HungLikeJesus 05-22-2008 10:34 AM

I got better.

You better have!

When someone isn my house starts getting sick, I start taking Airborne tablets. If I do have symptoms, they're about 75% less troublesome.

SteveDallas 05-22-2008 12:15 PM

Have you gotten your money back from the court case?

Flint 05-22-2008 01:36 PM

No, I'm going to buy some more today.

I'm not so stupid that I can't understand what the product is for.

Nobody ever said that's what it's supposed to do.

Defendants denied any wrongdoing or illegal conduct but have agreed to settle the litigation.
So, they paid off a few money-sucking vampires to make the imaginary problem go away. Meanwhile, they still sell the product and I still buy it. And it still works as well as it ever did at what it was desinged for.

SteveDallas 05-22-2008 02:05 PM

Yeah, that's all fine, but it doesn't need to stop you from filing for the class-action case.

Flint 05-22-2008 02:10 PM

Oh, I'm rolling in the dough already.

I just got a $2.50 check from a class action suit (that I knew nothing about) against the travel agent that booked my honeymoon with my ex.

SteveDallas 05-22-2008 02:26 PM

Way to go!!

Clodfobble 05-22-2008 02:47 PM

Make sure you pay taxes on that income.
