What do you eat when you are sick?

I am unfortunately sick right now with a crappy cold. I am trying to figure out what to eat for dinner. Something preferably really simple since I am fending for myself. I can't even decide on fast food for pete's sake!!

Anyway, I was just wondering what you like to eat when you are sick. Maybe I'll get some ideas.....if I am still awake

Open-face roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes, and gravy and butter over the whole thing.

For a cold with gastrointestinal side-effects, I end up eating lightly toasted bread and lemon-lime soda or ginger ale.

For a plain ol' cold, I like salty soups. Chicken flavored Ramen or something out of a can, or if I'm feeling a little more energized, chicken tortilla soup made in the Crock-Pot. Long cook times make stuff pretty easy to digest, and a one-dish deal means less to clean up.

Get well soon!

Soft boiled egg mushed up in a cap with a little butter and mayonnaise.

Chicken broth with lots of garlic and onions - maybe some pearl barley or ouzo pasta.

Chocolate brownies & nothing else

Stomach issues are usually dealt with by eating pretzels & a brown soda - too much citric acid in the clear sodas.

Colds? nothing like chicken noodle soup... sometimes add a little parm cheese.

Lemon drops help with a sore throat almost as well as Hall's - and they taste better. I also find that lemon drops and lemonade help with chest congestion.

When I'm getting over a Crohn's blockage, it's clear broth and popsicles.

Lots of tea and toast.

And hot chicken noodle soup to clear my nasal passages.

lately, pretty much anything I can get my hands on. I find I'm feeling sick all the time except when I'm eating. Hmmmm...this is a problem. lol

But if I'm really sick from something, I usually like honey on toast with a cup of tea.

Heinz tomato soup.
Scrambled eggs on toast.
Lucozade.

That's what my mum fed me when I was ill and I revert to as comfort food.
But to be honest, if I'm really ill I will just drink water - it's all I can manage.

stomach issues -- rice with buttermilk and fried omum (ajwain)
cold -- good wonton soup or matzoh ball soup
congestion -- pasta with anchovies, garlic, chilies and Parmesan, squeeze of lemon
