Any Neil Diamond fan(atic)s Here?

Im one.

One of my favorites is Holly Holy.

And this guy totally nails why.

Anyone else feel this way?

I have a soft spot for Neil Diamond. My mum was a huge fan whilst i was growing up so we often had it playing in the house. My brother was also into him a bit and my brother's best mate when they were kids. In fact my brother's mate ended up as a club singer and neil diamond tribute act :P He's very good

I know...admitting this puts me in dangerous territory...

Yeah, my Mom loved him and played his albums a lot.

here he is on youtube:), my brother's best mate from childhood, as neil diamond. A friend of the famly I suppose you could say. I used to ride around on his alsatian's back lol. she was called Sheba :)

He's also a good songwriter/singer in his own right. But I think he make shis money doing the Diamond act.

God, that's the first time I have heard him in years. I remember him and our kid practising their stuff in the living room. I particularly remember the day they both came back with electric guitars and an amp lol. A lot of noise for our little stone cottage.

Pico and ME 09-10-2008 04:54 PM

He's pretty good.

DanaC 09-10-2008 05:11 PM

Yeah. I've heard him do better actually. I am wondering if that was when he was doing a tour, he sounds
tired.

[eta] yeah, there's a Legends logo at the back of the stage. It was a tour of several tribute acts.

I have memories of my dad playing Neil on the old 8-track on Sundays when I was a kid, the Cracklin' Rosie era. Then my friend in college played Jonathan Livingston Seagull a lot.

It may be cheesy, but I like it.

I always thought it said "A reverend in blue jeans."

I LOVE Neil Diamond! I love any Jew in flamboyant clothing, actually.

How tragically ironic that, cellar-wise, that leaves you with Sheldon.

Trilby 10-01-2008 07:44 AM

I was thinking that, too, Zen; but Sheldon has spanked me in the past for liking him in that way so I didn't mention it.

BTW, you have been hilariously funny lately---are you always this funny? Cause if you're funny and Jewish AND wear flamboyant clothing...

Wait. Am I a fag hag?
