Try, just try, to watch this without cringing

Sarah defending her foreign policy experience with Russia.

OMG

Flint 09-25-2008 07:07 PM

She should have smirked arrogantly while brandishing a map in the face of the interviewer... you know, "Bush-style"

Pico and ME 09-25-2008 07:57 PM

She's going after the same demographic, isn't she.

jinx 09-25-2008 07:59 PM

Well she doesn't appear to be the sharpest tool in the shed there, does she...

classicman 09-25-2008 08:05 PM

Perhaps its one of those localized things - I can't imagine anyone THAT ignorant. I really can't and I live with me - Sheesh.

Shawnee123 09-26-2008 07:46 AM

I thought at first I wasn't impressed because of my liberal leanings and what I felt was a farce, and a bad choice.

I've since felt vindicated.

Oh, and I love me some Katie Couric. I always have, despite the criticism she gets.

Letterman pointed out that if McCain really does believe that suspending his campaign is important, then why isn't Palin really stepping up to the plate. As he put it, and I paraphrase "If for any reason you are unable to fulfill your duties as President of the US..." you know the rest. That would be her job, ffs, to step in wherever needed.

footfootfoot 09-26-2008 08:11 AM

Get used to Sarah. We're going to be seeing a lot more of her for the next 8 to 16 years.

Shawnee123 09-26-2008 09:13 AM

I really don't think so.

But, I still have hope for humanity.

Sundae 09-26-2008 09:43 AM

I dunno - I didn't think it was that bad. In fact I found it quite refreshing.
I dislike Palin's politics - she is as near as opposite my views as is possible in mainstream politics - but it's quite nice to see an unpolished politico occasionally.

Shawnee123 09-26-2008 09:45 AM

If you want to see an unpolished politico, you need look no further than our pres for the past 8 years.

Pico and ME 09-26-2008 09:45 AM

You havent had enough of Bushisms over there?

Sundae 09-26-2008 10:13 AM

Oh he's inept.
She just seems unpolished.

We're quite suspicious of polish over here (with a small p, although there are plenty suspicious of Polish too). Hence our tacit approval of John Prescott - Deputy Prime Minister - lamping a campaigner who threw an egg at him.

Pico and ME 09-26-2008 10:16 AM

OK, but her brand of 'unpolished' is just a bit scary for me.

Pie 09-26-2008 10:19 AM

SG, does "unpolished" mean "uneducated and uninformed" over there? Just curious

Sundae 09-26-2008 10:21 AM

I mean it to mean human, not slick and slippery, occasionally fazed.
As I say - I would never vote for her. I just wouldn't count this as a reason why.
