That's so sad.

I think he'll pick up a few extra votes because of it.

If only she could have held on another week. Then again, cancer sufferers are usually on palliative care, so it might be that she wasn't even aware of the election.

I'm sorry for him - to have such a loss on the eve of such a victory.
I expect he'll mention her in his inaugeration speech.

At the time of his visit, I was thinking that surely she must be able to last until after the election, and he could visit her then. But he clearly new better.

that's pretty disgusting.

ETA: i am disgusted by some people in this country. truly, viscerally disgusted. "too convenient" !!!! I think I will throw up now.

TheMercenary 11-03-2008 08:01 PM

Imagine that.

Juniper 11-03-2008 08:20 PM

Gotta admit, it occurred to me too - at least it occurred to me that someone might throw out that possibility. I can't...how to say this...I can't allow my brain to entertain even a remote possibility that the two events might be even slightly related. Too depressing.

Imagine you saying that to me. Pretty clever of you.

Ah, but did you know that the cause of death was in fact having a giant back-to-front B carved into her face?

I find it a little too fablistic or legendary. As if a chapter in his life has just ended and another chapter is about to begin.

My father died just as I was making the decision of whether or not to take a new job. Was that "convenient"? Or "legendary"?
