Office goodies

So far, clients and others have delivered to our office, the following stuff:

--multiple canisters of pistachios
--gourmet popcorn
--basket with crackers, pretzels, candied walnuts, mustard
--basket with snack mix, mints, pretzels and who knows what else
--huge trays of baklava
--cans of peppermint bark
--shortbread cookies
--chocolate cookies
--bottles of wine and Chivas (I didn't get those!)
and the piece de resistance:
--chocolate dipped strawberries

so . . . what did y'all get?

skysidhe 12-19-2008 12:45 PM

chocolate crinkle cookies
peanut butter drop cookies
coffee
home made mints ( my favorite )
soups
homemade breads
baked salmon
homemade toffee

and so many other kinds of cookies I don't know the names of saved for us from the Directors open house.

Trays and trays of goodies, some for all shifts some brought just to be shared by us three. I work late night shift and we always bring things in to share in addition to those.
Secret Santa elf filled with chocolate mints. Shared Christmas cards or small gifts.lots and lots of laughs shared. The best treat of all.

I work for a law firm and we get mostly the old standbys...gift baskets containing various chocolates, cookies, etc. The best thing we get all year is a HUGE...and I mean HUGE box of baklava made by Masri Sweets. Oh...and today a local TV station brought us pizza for lunch.

I thought a baklava was something Russian women wear on their heads.

cloud it's skysidhe ( sounds like ) shee
Sidhe a Gaelic name.

I know I am a terrible speller but I do try to spell phonetically

anyway, I bought a whole salmon a week or so ago. It was frozen and the unhelpful wench at the meat counter said they could not cut it...and went on to give me a bunch of fda regulations I could have cared less about.

sooo I decided just to cook the whole dang thing and took half to work. Oh it was yummy. That was before the slue of sweets but I agree. I thought if I had one more sweet item I would surely fall down in a diabetic coma.:)

I just misspelled it--I knew how to pronounce it!

and it's slough! ha! or . . . maybe slew? did you slew the salmon?

it does sound yummy, though.

Nuffink.

But I had one of Mum & Dad's mince pies earlier.
Which Mum has said I can help myself to (as she knows she's in no danger of me filling my boots).
So it's kinda like a freebie.
