Linen question
I gotta ask somewhere, so I ask y'all. My sister just gave me a jacquard throw bedspread. It doesn't feel soft like a sheet, so I was wondering if I can sleep on it. Or what is it meant to be used for? :p
|
is goes on top, doesn't it? for a little bit of warmth but mostly to look pretty?
|
Hmm...sorry, I'm a little dunce here. I don't get what you're saying. So, you're saying it's just for decorative purposes and I'm supposed to take it off when I jump into bed? Or....?
Btw, GOOD MORNING, MONSTER! :D You're up early. When ya leaving for work? |
lol...pssst...Tulip. There aren't like sheet police or something who will pop out of your closet and scream "UR DOING IT RONG!" They won't call the SWATCH team.
Go a little crazy. Drape it over something. ;) |
haha....I know, hehe. I WAS gonna sleep on it, but it feels so coarse. So I am wondering, DO I SLEEP ON THIS?!?
Anyhoo, I better get to my jogging before it gets late. Catch y'all later! |
If you like sleaping on coarse stuff, then go ahead! If you don't, then, um, don't. :)
Sounds like it's meant to be used on top of all your other blankets. Turn the sheets down over it before you get into bed so that if your arm or something gets out from under the blankets and onto the throw it won't get scratched up. |

And BTW, some people like it rough. ;) |

Tulip, you sleep under blankets, right? Bottom sheet, you, top sheet, blankets. Right?
|
Clod, you crack me up.

OK fine...the joke I nixed in favor of my Sheet Police post was
"it's to wipe up the spooge." Yeah, sorry. Isn't obvious better? ;) |
Tulip, you've probably pieced it together by now, but a bedspread is really nothing more than the very top blanket. Most bedspreads are big enough to pull way up over the pillows, even when you put a nice crease under the pillows, so you actually end up folding down the top three feet or so of the bedspread before you get into bed. When you fold the bedspread down, the scratchy texture becomes irrelevant, because you won't be touching it.
Edit: Oh, and speaking of touching it, never touch a bedspread in a hotel. Especially with your face/mouth. They change the sheets between guests, but not the bedspread, and naked strangers sit/lie/ejaculate on them. |
Actually I think clod poses a good question.
For years I never used a top sheet, I just hated it. I did want to tuck it in at the end of the bed b/c I like freedom for my feet, but if it wasn't tucked in, I would end up completely tangled in it. So I slept bottom sheet, me, blankets. I've gotten used to a top sheet (tucked in at the end of the bed) I just push my feet out one side now if I want. Anywho Tulip, usually we use throws in the living room on the couch or on top of our covers for extra warmth. If its really coarse and scratchy tho...I might not use it at all. Try using fabric softner a few times mebbe. |
What was on your bed before this bedspread came along?
