Spiral Cellar
what's in your hole?
If you're very lucky, it's a cool spiral cellar that is dug into the ground (here underneath a trapdoor in the kitchen) that stores and cools wine. http://www.thekitchn.com/thekitchn/w...image_id=14751 |
Ooh! I saw a programme where they put a spiral cellar in, with a see-through top.
Lovely idea, but I have to admit it would give me The Fear. I don't think I'd ever be able to stand on it comfortably. Or sleep well, imagining such nasty creature pressed up against the glass from below, lifting.... lifting.... Then again, I don't think I'd be disciplined enough to have any wine down there either. |
ooh, the Creature Under The Trapdoor.
Didn't think of that. Now I'm skeeerrrred! |
I like it. It looks like a good hiding place. You know, for when the aliens come.
|
probably not effective as a bomb shelter, either. But you could drink all the wine, and then you wouldn't feel The End come.
|
I like the way you think!
|
Is that what people mean when they talk about a downward spiral?
|
Everything is a matter of perspective. After 3 bottles of wine, and needing to go to the bathroom, it's a decidedly tricky upward spiral.

SG, you nail the difficulty with the glass ceiling. I've said before that a glass ceiling isn't so bad if the dress code for senior management is kilts. 'Course, it helps if senior management all look like something out of Modern Maturity, too...
The Nasty Creature From Below, making smooch faces... there has been a little H.P. Lovecraft pornography. On a dare, I should think. Well stocked bomb shelters make great winecellars. ;) |
