Send a message 50,000 years into the future

KEO is a space time capsule that will be launched somewhere between 2009 and 2010. It will reenter the Earth in 50,000 years. You are allowed to enter a message on this website to go up on the capsule.

If you can find my box of Twinkies, they're probably still good.

Greetings to our galactic overlords.

Beestie 02-24-2009 09:07 PM

Put a twinkie on it. A tasty lunchtime snack to the guy who opens it first.

KEO is an operation free and accessible to all. All the messages received, after having being made anonymous, will be published for free consultation.
So, wait, aside from sending these messages up into space, they also claim the right to publish these messages here and now? Sounds like someone's compiling a coffeetable book. [/cynic]

It's like Who's Who of High Schools, where you are invited to join and encouraged to buy the directory when it comes out.

Hey! Did you guys find Jimmy Hoffa yet?

Beestie 02-27-2009 07:39 AM

It might be buried in there somewhere but I couldn't figure out where the ship was going and how they could be sure that it would arrive in 50,000 years.
