When I was a kid there were two machines which i used to rush to and pester whichever adult was with me to put a penny in,as they had working models/puppets, the first was an excecution where the doors opened and there was some one on the guillotine with a priest nodding away as if reading and just as the blade drops and before the head got chopped off the doors shut.
Sad but the machines were out of order on the day i was there or i would have took a picture when it was working |

The other one is supposed to be a haunted house where theres a wee bloke sitting in his chair reading a paper this one had sound effects i remember, doors opened and pictures on the wall opened with ghosts and monsters behind. used to crack me up as a kid.

Thanks so much be-bop! I love to see Edinburgh and I am a freak for old toys and the like. They have a nice collection at the Children's Museum in Indianapolis. Those things fascinate me.

Great museum!
The street scenes were cool too. Thanks. :thumb2: |
I would live in Edinburgh just so I could hike Arthur's Seat every day.

Thanks for sharing the pictures of Edinburgh. I was there almost a year ago and miss it a lot!

brilliant shots bop, especially the comparison shots of 1900 and 2005
Oh and that money box in the museum, where you put the coin in the guy's hand and then it puts it into its mouth and eats it; my nan had one of those. I used to love it. I begged to play with it whenever I went round:P |
Fantastic pictures be-bop, espeically the street shot comparisons... I would love to see more of that type from pretty much anywhere.
I have an old pic of the from of my house but I don't know when it's from. I think the cedar addition to the house is from the 1860's but can't tell if it's there yet in the pic. |
