Divorced Parents - Please Help w/Survey

I'm running a survey for my COM 449 class - research methods, etc. - and I need some responses so my partner and I can write a report and all that fun stuff. :)

This is an easy, multiple-choice, 16-question survey about communication between divorced parents and its effect on kids' behavior. No personal information is collected.

Can you help? Thanks!

Here it is:

Please be gentle; I've never done this before. ;)

Might be a useful addition to add some questions for people whose parents divorced as well. May get you a different angle on communication.

Though, that probably widens the scope too much?

Anyway. Looks good!

Dana, someone from another group I asked said a similar thing. Interesting. The problem (along with keeping the scope narrow) is that it's a matter of self-reporting your own "good behavior" vs. reporting your kids'. I think it's near impossible to have an objective view of your own behavior. That would make for another interesting survey, though. Too bad I'm only taking this one survey class and only have three weeks left. ;)

It is also difficult to have an objective view of your kids' behavior. It is difficult to not blame the other parent when your child has behavior issues...especially when you already have animosity toward the other parent.

Anyway, I did your survey the best I could. I think if I took it a week from now, my answers might differ. My perspective changes as I go along.

Well yeah, but at least you're only reporting from a limited sample, not mixing perspectives. If I was really working on a serious scientific survey, I would have done it much differently. As it is, many of my questions - which were more specific and objective - got chopped because my partner and the instructor felt my original list was too long and complicated. Oh well! This serves the purpose we need it to serve.

THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who took time to help me with this project!

I am closing it now. I currently have 53 responses -- minimum required for the project was 20! You all really came through.

Not just you - I did ask people in two other groups (another board, and an e-mail list) Seems a strange thing to be happy about, getting responses to this particular survey - there are an awful lot of divorced people. Not that I think divorce is necessarily a bad thing, but it would be nice if finding the right person and having a happy marriage was easier, y'know?

When the project is complete, I'll put it online so you can see what we did with all of your help!
