hey! wanna buy a magazine?
 

can someone explain to me what is up wiith those assholes who go door-to-door selling magazines? the ones who on the surface seem real enthusiastic until you realise you heard the same speech word-for-word an hour ago when someone else knocked on your door? who do they work for? is there any way to make them stop short of a pitbull stationed on my welcome mat?

i actually bought magazines from them on 2 separate occasions. the first time i never received the magazine. did i learn my lesson? no. so i bought another from them. never received the magazine. lesson learned. my tactic was to summarily slam the door in their face. but then someone told me that a lot of them are convicts on rehab programs. depending on their mental stability, that could have unintended consequences.

oh well. maybe i can just electrify my doorbell.
