Styrofoam in electric bills?

I got an electric bill filled with styrofoam today. No there was nothing in there requiring protection - just a notice that my bill is late. Not my fault, the bill was supposed to be covered by a third party agency last month. Why include the styrofoam? Isn't the threat that winter is coming and I will freeze my tush off if I don't pay good enough? :3_eyes:

it's for insulation when they shut your heat off.

Maybe they hope that making the envelope bigger will cause you to pay more attention to their bill.

I chuckled out loud! You have got to be teasing Sam.

Call the company and ask. I'll wait.

So, was it like slabs of styrofoam, or those peanut looking thingys? I think the difference is important, as to their motive.

This thread cracks me up and it only just started!

get out the phone book, pick a name, mail them some dirt.

I kid you not. The bill had 3 pieces of peanut type styrofoam in it. I'm certainly calling the company, because a local bureaucracy was supposed to clear all this up on the 16th of last month. I even have the official notification from them. Maybe the peanuts represent sour grapes since they couldn't make me pay twice on the same bill. :eyebrow:

Maybe it means "pay up! We've got you by the nuts!"

My ex boss and I used to take sheet lead and put it in the "Business Reply Postage Paid" junk mail envelopes and mail them back so they recipient would incur overweight fees.
