Mandan, North Dakota in December?

Well, my wife just asked me if I had any interest to go with her to Mandan, North Dakota which I think is near Bismark. The only catch is that the trip is the week before Christmas!

Let's see, North Dakota in December.... I bet it's colder then a well diggers you know what! And I don't want to offend anyone here who might be from there but is there anything worth photographing there at that time of year? Maybe I could do my Christmas shopping and get lots of nice North Dakota gifts?

Darn, I was hoping for Aruba in December again but Valero is selling off that refinery! :right:

Remember that scene from Fargo where the Steve Buscemi character is burying a suitcase full of money in a snowbank by the side of a deserted highway, and then to mark the location he sticks a windshield ice scraper into the snowbank?

Pack extra polar fleece. And a blanket. And food in case you get snowed in. And more polar fleece. And maybe a cord of wood.

Have fun.

Well, now she has to go to New Orleans the week before the North Dakota trip and will be staying in the French Quarter. I can get a flight for 20000 miles and $20 so I am thinking of going there instead of North Dakota. Just got to find someone to watch my dog.
