Laptop positions
I don't like to type on my laptop. I can't get comfortable. Surfing, fine, I can do that in whatever position. Actual work on it, composition, etc. I tend not to do as much as I could/should.
My normal sitting/lounging position is sitting with my legs flat on my futon, and I have the laptop to the side on a basket. I can put the LT on my lap (on a book) which is all right for a while. I can put it in front of me between my legs, which hurts my back. I also have a small table which I use occasionally, which isn't satisfactory for a number of reasons. Any great tips? suggestions? No laptop pron, please! |
I sit on the floor , ( pillow of corse ) and use the coffie table

Try a wireless keyboard. They are smaller, lighter and easier to position.

I can't work on the laptop either. I save heavy-duty work for my desktop. But I do love the laptop for everything else.

When I'm at TF's, we're always sitting on the bed while using lapops. She seems able to put hers on thighs, prop herself up with pillows, and compute for hours comfortably. I can't do that, so I'm always up and down from reclining to just mouse around, to sitting up to type. Eventually, my legs fall asleep.

I use one a lap desk. This one in particular.

I just sit on the couch, with my feet on the floor and my laptop on my lap. 100% of my computer use is either in this position, or standing in front of it at the kitchen counter (where my charging plug is.) I absolutely cannot use it on the floor, bed, coffeetable, or anything like that.

I set my laptop on the dining room table and sit comfortably on the dining room chair to use the laptop. Should be comfortable enough to type.

I'm sitting in a blue camp chair with my lap top in my lap. jinx has a nice rocling chair and a folding table for hers.
I sometimes wonder how many hours of my life have been spent in this position. |
hmm. doesn't really sound like there are a lot of comfortable options. Thanks for responding guys

At home I have a desk set up with a custome built stand to angle it, and a separate keyboard and mouse. if I ever get my desk clear, I'll take a pic. other places ... lap, table are all fine.
STOP using it to one side on a basket. You will give yourself serious back problems. |
I use my laptop mostly in my bunk, with me lying on my left side, thus forcing me to use only my right hand to type.
