Dec 21, 2009: Oversized Tree

Yo Dude, where you going with a 50 foot tall, £400 Christmas tree?

He could be taking it to a public park, or square, to be the community tree, I suppose?

Then again, maybe he lives in one of those gigantic mansions, or a castle, or something?
Those people like these politically correct cars.

Or maybe he's just crazy?

OK then, crazy it is.

It is the second year running Mr Howe has staged the trick. Last year he cut the tree up immediately after it was chopped down. This Christmas he decided to tow it home in one piece so he could drive it past the home of his housebound grandmother, even putting a few lights and decorations on it as a treat for her. The whole operation, including decorating the branches with 200 baubles and 2,000 LED lights, took five days.

Nutty.

That's brilliant!

Follow the link for the full story. It really does look like the giant tree is bursting out of the roof!

I'll take C. Fucker's crazy.

I wonder if you can make soup out of large trees....

But Mr Howe, who is separated and has three children Harry, 12, Roni, four, and Finn, two, said the planning took far longer.
Aren't I cooler than your Mom?
Isn't it more fun at my house than your Mom's house?
Guess I'm the best parent in the world, huh?
;)

I like seeing grown men act like grown boys.

Having the windows open in December, sort of offsets driving that pseudo-car. :haha:

ZenGum 12-21-2009 07:16 PM

He just wanted to spruce the place up a bit.

richlevy 12-21-2009 07:35 PM

He could probably hang his car as one of the ornaments.

um, this is the UK..... Maybe that house does have heating, but even if it's on, it ain't costing much. Radiators allow you to control heat by room..... none of this forced air heat the whole house malarkey....

xoxoxoBruce 12-22-2009 03:02 PM

Uh, did you see Sundae's pictures of snow? I have neither forced air, nor malarkey, but not every room has a door to close it off from the adjoining space. Perhaps this guy does, but since Bournemouth, Dorset, has been averageing 5 to 7 degrees (C) daytime and lower at night,(ice & freezing fog tonight), it would be pretty chilly with the windows open. He may be a hearty Brit, but he has 2, 4 and 6 year old children visiting.
