Your Weirdest Christmas/Whatever Wish 2009
Inspired by Clodfobble's wish for solid poop
What is the one thing you'd really like to get before we say goodbye to 2009 -one thing that almost absolutely nobody else would really be wishing for (although I'm sure we'd all be happy if 'fobble got her solid poop, we probably don't all wish to receive it ourselves....) |
This.
http://s.kmart.com/is/image/Sears/60...sm=0.9,0.5,0,0 250 spools of all-cotton sewing thread in lots of yummy colors. I guess that's kind of weird. :) |
Indoor lighting.
By which I mean main (ceiling) lights. Actually, this is just a matter of my getting my act together and clearing a path through the cellar to the fuse box, so that they'll work again. I've been lighting my bathroom with candles for about two years :P |
Dana: A candle lit bathroom sounds cool.
What I'd wish for (and I'm sure that I'm not going to get as this would depend on me as well) is clear communication without insecurities or bravado. |
I wish for my neice to completely dismiss her older bf/ lover from her mind and not to have to go through the pangs of withdrawal as well as facing family retribution (because she does kinda deserve the latter).
And I wish for my sweet and loving nephew not to look back on this Christmas as a traumatic event. That's pretty unique! |
I wish for a lack of guilt trips, but I suppose that's pretty universal.

Canon 5DMkII with a small arsenal of lenses, and a passel of accessories too gearish to list. And a Zacuto Matte box to go with it.

NPR had a segment with "Ask Amy" who is kind of an Ann Landers for the Chicago Tribune newspaper. Anyway she had done a column on "What was the worst Christmas present you ever got" and it was pretty funny. Lots of responses mentioned the gift was from their spouse or make that their Ex spouse! And lots of the responses were for re-gifts, the ones that are used and passed on.
Here are some of the best ones: "Dear Amy, In 2004 my husband gave me a cemetery plot." "Here's an email we have from Mandy in Lansing. One Christmas, I received a smoothie maker from my mother. Not only was it used and not in working condition, the previous owner had left it sticky with an old smoothie. I also received a box of Band-Aids as a birthday gift. Mom refuses to take suggestions." "Dear Amy, one year, my father gave me a used electric carving knife that had blood on it, you know, why people don't even wash these things out." "This woman's brother had given her - it's like he had cleaned out his medicine cabinet and had given her several little boxes of floss, dental floss, half gone." "One year, my grandparents who are notoriously cheap decided they didn't need to send - need a Christmas tree so they gave us ornaments off the tree with - along with hotel shampoo and conditioner they had swiped over the years from their snowbird travels. That year we also got 8x10 photos of them as our present. The photo now hangs in my bathroom, which I feel is fitting." |
The time to learn CSS. I need to update my website, but want to change the styles and content easily. (Maybe I should say the discipline to sit and read my Dummies book.)

My hubby got me a cappuccino maker 2 years ago... "new" from a department store. It was filled with coffee grinds!!! someone used it, then returned it without cleaning it... needless to say, we returned it, with dismay. I got a fondue pot instead lol.
|
Good choice Jay - fondue beats coffee hands down.
