40 and 80 meter band - once so popular - are mostly quite. Most activity occurs in repeaters - 20 meter and higher frequencies. But I did find someone who was using high sunspot activity to communicate to Japan via 160 meters (before AM or medium wave frequencies). His large antenna arrays attracted my curiosity.

The Trenton Computer show this year (in April) is trying to attract more Ham radio activity. Of course, Dayton is still a major event.
