What's the tooth fairy paying for teeth these days?
The inch has lost his second tooth, the first one he swallowed so no visit from TTF.
Last night the tooth fairy left him a Fin. His mom thought that was extreme. I remember 40 years or so ago getting .50 cents, so a fiver seemed about right to me. What do the rest of you think about The Tooth Fairy? |

Depends on the tooth. An average tooth is worth $5, a small toy, a book etc. A minor tooth may only be worth a couple of Sacagaweas. The two top front teeth are worth $20ea.

Tooth fairy is cheap around here. She only leaves a single coin for each tooth. Either a Half Dollar or a Dollar. She doesn't believe in paper money.

Round here it's a polished quarter. Two if there was particular pain/grief involved. The last tooth in Hebe's gob yielded a huge handful off pennies and nickles. I think our tooth fairy has a bit of an attitude thing going on.

Anybody see the tooth fairies in Hellboy?

Interesting. I like the sliding scale depending on importance and or pain.
The coin thing would have been my preferred route, except due to being on different pages in different books, some of the parents in the house thought it was ok to let the kids play with coins from a very early age, thus diminishing their specialness. hint: it is the same parent who will loosely stuff up to $60 in change in her coat pocket with out a flap or button... I opted for larger $ since I clearly remember my dad, in all sincerity handing me .50 and telling me to go to the movies, buy myself a popcorn and keep the change. I'm not even sure you could do that in 1935. |
I think the tooth fairy here believes that it should be more of a token gesture.

Kids never forget the level of generosity of the tooth fairy - and it directly correlates to the quality of care at the old-people's home you get chucked into.
I'd rather throw some paper money around now than reek of piss and get smacked around by orderlies in my golden years. |
lol good plan jinx! although it's too late for the tooth fairy to save me now.

The tooth fairy myth - shamefully teaching children that they should get a monetary reward for organ donation.

Rewarding them for letting their teeth fall out...

$5 for the first one, $1 for all subsequent baby teeth. Or as much as they can get selling them on Ebay. |

Remember how you used to get five bucks a tooth and then it went down to .75 then to .50, etc. Well, your mom used to take the paper money from under your pillow before I woke up... |
