Wanna lower your taxes?

Kill your grandparents. In fact, do whatever it takes to lower the number of people on Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, and other "safety nets". According to this article, 52% of our taxes go to these programs. Then focus on peace, to reduce the 21% of our taxes that go toward defense and security.

Mine are already all gone. :(

I wouldn't kill anyone ('cept hobos) to save a couple bucks, but I know there are people who would.

Lost my 97 year old grandmother a couple months ago. She was the last of the Shawhicans, so to speak.

This is from another interesting article

Quote:

The high-tax legend has become so powerful that most people don’t even know their taxes have been cut. In a recent New York Times/CBS poll, 24 percent of the people thought, wrongly, that President Obama raised taxes last year and 53 percent thought their taxes were the same. Only 12 percent answered, correctly, that their taxes had been cut.

Thanks, Jane, for debunking some of the tax myths being disseminated by the anti-tax crowd. Not that facts will change their minds.

Your stats are bunk. The Federal Income Tax RATE on the median family of four isn't that low and you know it, you are disingenuous at the least and a liar at the worst (You are the poster-child for the saying "There are lies, damn lies, and statistics"). Their paychecks were reduced by a much higher rate than 4.6% all year long. They may have been able to recoup some of their money back in the form of a refund due to deductions, but their tax RATE certainly wasn't 4.6%. Futher, if the most recent stats are for 2006 how are you going to accurately extrapolate the 2009 tax year...you can't even begin to.

The "Higher Income" individuals you allude to, that complain that 47% don't pay income tax are RIGHT to complain. The fact that they pay Medicare and Social Security taxes is irrelevant and nothing more than a rouse on your part. That tax is for a specific expenditure, at least as far as the incorrect perception goes that we are paying in for OUR OWN benefits. The fact that 47% are freeloading on the 53% of Federal Income Tax payers is worrisome. Its not relevant how poor one is, its relevant that everyone have skin in the game. For those financially less fortunate consume far more of the tax resources than the "higher income" individuals. As your parents told you "You won't appreciate it if it is just given to you, you have to earn it".
I lol'd
