My sick grandchild at the ER today

Even while feeling very bad with an awful stomach virus she still makes a good subject. Shot these with my iPhone and did some touchup and correction with Adobe's Photoshop Mobile App which is a really good one for this purpose. She is doing better now having been admitted and on some IV solutions.

As a footnote, always a good idea to have consent to treat forms and insurance card copies while watching kids, who knows when they will need to see a Dr.

So sorry to hear it.

They called me to the ER 2 days ago to stick a kid about that age for an IV and blood.

They usually are not happy about that and neither are the parents.

My heart goes out to you and the parents.

Yes, she was not happy. The first ER nurse tried the left inner arm at the fold and failed so then a former pediatric nurse tried the left back of the hand and failed and finally got one in her right hand. An hour later a lady came back saying the blood had hemotized or something like that and had to do a finger prick which she really did not like. Then an hour later another came back and pricked her heal but at that point she was pretty dehydrated so her blood did not flow so she stuck her with a butterfly stick in the original left arm spot and pulled 2 tubes of blood. 6 sticks for a 3 year old, I hope she isn't mentally scarred for life!

She is BEAUTIFUL, sick or not. I hope she feels better soon.
and.. Yes I agree always have permission for Drs etc, just in case. If you trust tthat person enough with your child you should trust them enought to let a DR take blood, put on a cast, get Xrays etc. Maybe not life or death stuff but basic stuff. My babysitters all had basic hospital care permission for anything not requiring surgery or life & death situations.
