i-phone 4
I have been forced into looking at new phones, since my (second-hand, cast-off) Razr has pretty much died. It can receive incoming calls...I can even speak to the person calling...but the speaker is bust so they can't hear me :P
The last time I had a new phone (as opposed to inheriting someone else's when they've got a new one) was about 6 pr 7 years ago. It was a simple, sturdy, Nokia housebrick. Tough enough to survive being run over by a car (twice) and trampled by a horse (once); but not exactly hi-tech. I had been considering an i-pad; but now that my phone has died and i absolutely have to get a new one...might as well get an i-phone. I'll hang fire on the i-pad til they've been around another year or so. So yeah...I have ordered a shiny-shiny, black i-phone4 32Gig. Should be with me on Wednesday :) |
can you chose between phone companies with it there in the UK? Or does one have a monopoly?

I'm almost due for an upgrade. The Verizon guy at the mall verified that the Krave is a POS for touch keypad.
I can't justify spending a ton on a phone though. I'll probably wait and see what you can get for 50 bucks and the two year plan...again. |

Damn straight :P @ Glatt: lots of providers to choose from. I've gone with 3Mobile: £189 up front, £35 p/mth 2 year contract: gives me 900 standard voice minutes, 5000 3to3 minutes, 5000 texts, 1gig data allowance. |
I am getting a new Crackberry this week, reluctantly I might add, but it is the cheaper solution to getting my youngest dau a new phone. So we plan to get me a new one, and give the dau my Crackberry then just reassign her number to it. But now the more I read about it the more happy I am doing it, the latest ones seemed to really have improved since the one I bought came out. I would consider the Apple but I would have to change servers and that would screw everyone up so we will wait a bit longer to consider that change more seriously.

In this household we have three of them and a family plan, and we are currently steaming angry at the high price of data plans and the amount of tax and fees on the bill.

I have an iphone, and I do love it; contract is about to end at the end of the year. I'm going to try to keep the same phone and plan (tho I'll have to get the batter replaced); because mine runs $85 per month for everything, including my data, and tax. I suspect if I get the upgraded model, my costs will go up (and they may go up anyway).
