Jan 8, 2011: Fat Chance

OMG, it's only January and the ice is breaking up... the poor Polar Bears.
Wait a minute, that's the Houston Ship Channel, that can't be ice.

Quote:

Some 15,000 gallons of animal fat poured into the channel through a storm drain on Tuesday
after an onshore storage tank owned by agricultural company Jacob Sterns and Sons leaked
250,000 gallons of the greasy substance, Brahms said.

They just need a giant slotted spoon to scoop it off the top.

They should market it as an arctic jigsaw puzzle.

Elspode 01-08-2011 03:20 AM

I guess this means they'll need a fatbreaker to clear the channel?

Just think. Somewhere there is a tank for holding 250,000 gallons of pure fat. :yum:

What is that for, anyway? USA's secret strategic fat reserve?
